By the commitments set out in the following articles, the CTR and each of the co-signatories are honored with a Gay-Friendly attitude, that is to say respectful and comprehensive, far from any communitarian spirit.
The Reunion Tourism Committee and the signatory institutions of this charter wish:
Reaffirm their commitment to the fundamental rights of individuals * and the principle of non-discrimination **.
Specifically affirm their refusal to discriminate against LGBT persons.
ARTICLE 1 - EQUALITY
Every LGBT person is welcomed with the same pleasure and the same professional consideration as those offered to any other category of visitor.
Married, heterosexual or gay couples enjoy the same offers and promotions like 'Honeymoon'.
ARTICLE 2 - HOME, RESPECT AND ATTENTION
The management and staff of the establishment signatory of the Gay-Friendly Meeting Charter are committed to offering an authentic and friendly welcome.
Through a courteous attitude excluding any sign of visible judgment, the establishment implements the general provisions aimed at ensuring a serene stay for its LGBT clientele (information, security, quality of service and discretion).
ARTICLE 3 - INFORMATION
To complement the tourist information, it is held at the disposal of the clientele documents published locally to provide information on the gay life of the island.
Specialized brochures (health, regulations, etc.) published by local associations are available. Where applicable, member institutions provide advice and assistance to LGBT clients.
The members are invited if they wish, to take part in the actions carried out for this community.
ARTICLE 4 - SENSITIZATION
The management and the staff of the establishment receive information specific to the gay friendly reception during seminars led by gay associations Reunion approved by the CTR.
They are also vigilant against all other forms of discrimination based on race, physical appearance, disability, religious and ideological beliefs.
ARTICLE 5 - VISIBILITY
The charter is displayed in a visible place of the establishment, preferably at the reception.
The logo accompanying this charter must be posted at the entrance to better identify the member institutions of the charter.
ARTICLE 6 - CONTROL
The institution accepts to undergo regular evaluations by the CTR, which verifies the means implemented to satisfy the LGBT clientele.
* The fundamental rights of individuals: are guaranteed in particular by the articles of the French Constitution and by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
** Discrimination is the act of isolating and treating individuals or an entire group differently from others. The principle of non-discrimination affirms the categorical refusal of all discriminatory attitudes that may undermine respect for individuals.
